Periodically, we switch out before and after pictures in this section of our site. Some are new and some are "classics." Some are occupied homes, others are vacancies. Be sure to visit us often to "get the picture!"

Here, we'll show how clutter can affect the way a room/space shows. Why should clutter "go away?" First, it eats up space ... and when you are selling a property, you are selling space ... and when you seemingly have less space to offer, you may negatively affect your selling price. Next, too much clutter can leave buyers wondering if there IS enough storage space! Lastly, too much clutter can leave the impression that if you don't take the time to clean up your clutter, you may not be taking the time to attend to other routine maintenance items. In the rooms/homes pictured below, we used items already in the house.

Before
After
This was the bedroom of a boy who was not living in the home at the time it was for sale. Removing several items (some were used in other rooms, some were discarded), we were able to fashion a spacious bedroom using items we "uncovered" in the decluttering process.

Before
Who knew there was a nice, sunny guest bedroom under all the stuff ... one with a door to an outside deck! Again, some items were discarded or donated, some were used in staging other areas of the home, and some were used to create this guest room.
Before
After
Since this was the first room potential buyers would see upon entering this row home, we needed some thorough decluttering to optimize space and create clear pathways through the room. Reorganizing the built-in bookshelves was also a must. From chaotic to calm in just a couple of hours!
